Jennifer and Justin’s wedding day was the perfect way to start off our 2019 wedding season!! Their celebration took place at Weber’s Boutique Hotel in Ann Arbor and it has some amazing mid-century modern vibes! Before I officially close the 2018 chapter of my business, I wanted to share two blog posts on "The Best of 2018!" I had the honor and the privilege of working with some pretty amazing couples in 2018, and I wanted to share some of my all-time favorites. . .Read More
For me, every wedding feels like a Royal Wedding day because that’s how special each and every one of my CCP Couples are. All of their careful planning has finally come together and all of their closest friends and family travel to see them make their marriage vows. . . But how cool is it that Kristen and Dave will share their wedding anniversary with Prince Harry and Megan Markle?! . . .Read More
Last week I shared Part 1 - The Best of 2017: Engagements and, today, I'm featuring Part 2 - The Best of 2017: Weddings! I looked back on all the wedding photos I captured in 2017 and narrowed them down to my absolute favorites from each couple's wedding day. These images make me fall in love all over again with my job, and I ended up with 1,418 wedding favorites from 2017! But I narrowed that down even further, and I am only sharing the very best of the best on this post today! . . .Read More
I am kind of at a loss for words at describing Jess + Pat's amazing wedding day!! They invited their friends and family from all over the world to celebrate in a casual and intimate backyard setting. Their wedding was held at a lakeside family home in Ann Arbor and it was understated, elegant, fun, and will forever be close to my heart because every detail felt so personal to Jess and Pat! . . .Read More
On Sunday mornings, a lot of people like to sleep in, make each other breakfast, go for a walk with the dog(s), sip coffee, and read the newspaper (although I guess most people do that on their smart phones now). On one such Sunday morning, however, Kyle woke up at 6 AM because he just couldn't stay asleep any longer; he was just too excited. After taking Jen's dog, Nala, for a walk and watching the minutes tick by to 7 o'clock, Kyle couldn't stand it any longer! Enough was enough! . . .Read More
I believe your wedding should be a true reflection of your unique love story, and I think my 2016 weddings were so unique and amazing because every detail my couples thought of was personal to them! One cool thing about the state of Michigan is that there is virtually every landscape you could ever want as a backdrop for your wedding; urban cities, historic mansions, wide open countryside, picturesque vineyards, secluded lakes, evergreen forests, snow covered hills, vibrant fall colors, and hometown churches. . . .Read More
Throughout the majority of Lindsay and Corbin's wedding day at The Valley in Ann Arbor, MI we were dodging rain clouds! Thankfully for Lindsay and Corbin, these little bursts of rain seemed to last about ten minutes at a time every half hour. So for those thirty minutes between showers, the sky became this amazing overcast texture and was rain-free for them! . . .Read More
Students with bags and important looking textbooks bustled past Melissa and Jeremy eager to get to class or to meet-up with friends on the University of Michigan campus. As Melissa and Jeremy strolled the collegiate grounds in Ann Arbor, during their engagement session with me, they began to reminisce about their time together. They laugh about it now, but these two met unofficially for the first time in high school government class. Melissa was the girl who sat behind Jeremy and each thought the other weird.
They didn't know it then, but over the next few years Melissa and Jeremy would begin their relationship, fall in love, attend college together, binge watch countless episodes on Netflix, and eventually become engaged.
As we explored the different areas of the beautiful campus, I couldn't help but see all the love between Jeremy and Melissa. He would make a face or noise and she would laugh and in turn, her laugh made him grin from ear to ear. Melissa would crack a joke or a funny face and it was as if I wasn't even there in these tender moments. I felt honored knowing that I was given the opportunity to photograph two funny, smart, sassy, and genuine people and I cannot wait for their wedding next year!
P.S. Fun Fact: They love the movie "Mean Girls," and since this engagement happened on a Wednesday, I felt it was necessary that I wear pink to their session. :)
It's not every couple that when you say, "Let's do something fun like a dance off," they bust out into these seriously awesome dance moves!
Being born into a home that is strictly Green and White (Michigan State reference) - not that it really matters a whole lot to me - I was enlighten by Melissa and Jeremy that there is a superstition when it comes to the "M" on the diag. Supposedly, should one stand on the "M" it will bring you bad luck and you will fail your exams... that is unless you run naked halfway across campus at midnight. I thought it best if we didn't risk it.
