We spent an evening together exploring Sam’s PaPa’s 100-year old farm in the countryside and these two were the best!! It was the perfect fall day with bright orange and yellow trees and the evening light was golden, glowy, and so romantic. . . .Read More

This is Allie and Jason’s wedding day, and they were living out their best Titanic life at their wedding reception! I have never seen a dance floor more energetic or more joyful than Allie and Jason’s!! (Make sure you scroll all the way to the end to see their killer dance moves and some special end of the night magic we created together!) . . .
I love an elegant, romantic wedding, don’t you? Today, I'm sharing some inspiration for brides planning an elegant and rustic winter wedding! I feel like some brides steer clear of rustic weddings all together because it can seem like it's as all burlap instead of black tie, but that's simply not the case at all! . . .Read More
Throughout the majority of Lindsay and Corbin's wedding day at The Valley in Ann Arbor, MI we were dodging rain clouds! Thankfully for Lindsay and Corbin, these little bursts of rain seemed to last about ten minutes at a time every half hour. So for those thirty minutes between showers, the sky became this amazing overcast texture and was rain-free for them! . . .Read More
Emily and Taelor really enjoy being creative and I loved all of the personal details that they incorporated into their wedding day to showcase their personalities. Emily and Taelor also placed a high importance on their wedding photography and were game for any of my requests! I think that because Emily and Taelor were able to have an engagement session with me last fall, it played a vital role in how smoothly all of their wedding day portraits went! . . .Read More
The air was heavy and hot as we journeyed to the top of the lower peninsula for this Up North wedding in Tustin, Michigan. Diane and Nick both wanted a very laid back wedding celebration with family and friends and planned a whole wedding weekend where everyone camped, swam, fished, enjoyed cool beverages, and enjoyed the summer days together. The bridal prep, the ceremony, and the reception would all be taking place at the secluded woodland retreat, The Kettunen Center, which also had a beautiful lakefront view. Throughout the morning family and friends enjoyed this hidden, off-the-beaten-path retreat and also prepared for the afternoon celebration.
The flowers for the centerpieces and decor were assembled by mothers, grandmothers, and cousins during the morning of the wedding day while Diane and Nick began to get ready. As a friend sang and strummed her ukulele, Diane seemed to glide down the aisle towards a beaming Nick, in a blush-colored and crystal embellished wedding gown.
So much love surrounded this fun couple as poems and pretty things were spoken at the ceremony and as Nick and Diane recited their vows to each other through teary eyes and ecstatic bursts of laughter. After some quick family portraits, the bride and groom took a few moments to be alone and to cherish this very special time in their relationship. As the sun began to set, we then took Diane and Nick down by the water to capture some beautiful and romantic pictures of them before they headed to join family and friends at the reception.
The yellow lightning bugs buzzed and cries of laughter rang through the air as this outdoor reception continued on the beach. Some younger guests took to the glassy cool water to swim, canoe, and fish while others enjoyed people watching from the beach or from around the bonfire. Once the sun had officially gone down and the sand was cool, ladies and gents kicked off their shoes and danced the night away barefoot on the beach beneath an inky black sky full of twinkling stars.
I want to wish Diane and Nick so much love and happiness and congratulations on being MARRIED!

Tiffany and Frank's Clarkston, MI wedding was such an honor to be a part of. From the moment I arrived, camera in hand, I could see all the time and planning that Tiffany had put into the whole celebration. Yellow roses and billy ball flowers filled the bridal bouquet, soft burlap, candles, and natural accents were laid on every table, and the sweeping view from the balcony of The Oakhurst Golf and Country Club looked over tall, sheltering trees reminiscent of Up North/Northern Michigan.
After the family pearls were placed around Tiffany's neck and Frank and his groomsmen toasted the day, friends and family gathered outside for the romantic ceremony beneath a birch tree alter. Emotions were high and tears flowed freely as the couple said their vows and exchanged rings. The sound of a Scottish bagpipe cut through the air and singled the time to party! As the cake was cut, toasts were given, and dances danced, there was one final surprise for guests that Tiffany and Frank planned - roasting marshmallows for s'mores out on the deck beneath the stars.
Tiffany and Frank, thank you. It was an honor to capture your beautiful day. I wish you nothing but happiness and adventures as you begin your life together!

The day started out looking like it might rain, but then the light became soft and beautiful near sunset for Melissa and Tyler's lifestyle engagement session outside Grand Rapids at the Gracewil Country Club and then in the backyard rose garden of Tyler's grandmother. There was a special connection with the Country Club, not only had it been used by family for years for an occasional round of golf, but it is also where Melissa and Tyler will exchange their wedding vows on July 13th!
Melissa and Tyler have a lot of love for each other and although Tyler was a bit camera shy, they had a bunch of funny, real moments where I was able to capture Tyler's natural smile! I also thought Melissa's engagement ring was gorgeous and took the opportunity to place it in a few natural elements.
