I am so excited to share the images from Emily and Jordan’s amazing wedding day because their whole celebration from their first look to the decor was out of this world gorgeous! Not only are Emily and Jordan just laid-back, funny, and kind, but they are both very adventurous! You see, their wedding day started off with sunshine and clear skies, but shortly after they shared their First Look, some dark clouds rolled in and it started to pour! . . .Read More

Sometimes when you meet a person, you just instantly know you're going to like them. That's exactly how I felt when I met Allie for the first time at our initial meeting! And then we proceeded to talk about her wedding, the love of her life, Jason, my photography style, the fun things both her and Jason love to do together, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Walking Dead . . . for almost 3 HOURS!! . . .Read More
One of my biggest joys as a wedding photographer is getting to continue photographing couples after their wedding day and as they grow in their marriage and start families! The fall is a special time of year for me in so many ways not only because it is my favorite season, but there are lots of colorful outdoor weddings, I'm meeting with newly engaged couples getting married the following year, and I also sometimes have the privilege of photographing my past clients again!! . . .Read More
Marita and Kirt's wedding day was so relaxed and laid-back and all their family and friends in attendance could not stop smiling the entire day because of the amount of joy and love surrounding these two individuals! To top it off, Marita and Kirt had a truly magnificent fall-colored backdrop at the Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Port Huron, MI where they held their reception! . . .Read More
On the morning of Alana and Kyle's fall wedding day at Waldenwoods Resort in Hartland, MI, Alana was all smiles as she stepped into her vintage lace wedding gown with the help of her sisters, bridesmaids, and her mom. All the girls were laughing and joking as they helped Alana with her earrings, out of her quirky, cat-in-outer-space socks and into her Badgley Mischka shoes, and even spritzing her perfume before she walked across the property to share a first look with her groom-to-be Kyle! . . .Read More
Tiffany and Frank's Clarkston, MI wedding was such an honor to be a part of. From the moment I arrived, camera in hand, I could see all the time and planning that Tiffany had put into the whole celebration. Yellow roses and billy ball flowers filled the bridal bouquet, soft burlap, candles, and natural accents were laid on every table, and the sweeping view from the balcony of The Oakhurst Golf and Country Club looked over tall, sheltering trees reminiscent of Up North/Northern Michigan.
After the family pearls were placed around Tiffany's neck and Frank and his groomsmen toasted the day, friends and family gathered outside for the romantic ceremony beneath a birch tree alter. Emotions were high and tears flowed freely as the couple said their vows and exchanged rings. The sound of a Scottish bagpipe cut through the air and singled the time to party! As the cake was cut, toasts were given, and dances danced, there was one final surprise for guests that Tiffany and Frank planned - roasting marshmallows for s'mores out on the deck beneath the stars.
Tiffany and Frank, thank you. It was an honor to capture your beautiful day. I wish you nothing but happiness and adventures as you begin your life together!
I met Tiffany + Frank while freelancing my photography skills for Fairytale Productions. (All photos were captured by Courtney Carolyn, but are copyright to Fairytale Productions. To read more about why I collaborate and work with other photographers, check out this post.)
Many (many) thanks to the talented team who were a part of creating this beautiful wedding

As a tall, beautiful, young woman walked into the room with her brown wavy hair falling softly around her face, framing her green eyes, Brent thought to himself, "Oh yeah, she's in my league," speaking of Sam and not long after that they shared their first kiss in the basement of the Theta Chi fraternity basement. Sam is one of the warmest, most lovable people I have ever known and I think Brent, who is funny, kind, and laid-back, is lucky to call my Chi Omega sister his wife.
The day Sam and Brent exchanged vows was a perfect September day in the fall at the Concorde Inn in Charter Township of Clinton, Michigan. Sam was surrounded by her closest friends and family as she prepared for the ceremony with the movie "Animal House" playing in the background on the TV - so fitting for this greek bride and groom I think! - as her cheeks were swiped with blush and her lips blotted. Brent started the day off at home with his groomsmen and family and while tying his bow tie and figuring out the complexity that is cuff links, the family's cute Brittnay Spaniel danced around everyone in excitement for the upcoming vows.
Although Brent loves it when Sam wears flats, on your wedding day, shoes are almost as important as the dress and Sam wore Anne Klein heels, customized by the bride herself with a little shout out to her Chi Omega sisters. Sam walked down the aisle with her father to "Can't Help Falling in Love" and happy tears were shared by all as this couple took their marriage vows and exchanged their bling. Then the celebration really began as guests, all family and close friends, danced the night away enjoying the personalized M&Ms and shot glass favors, got silly in the photo booth, tossed bean bags in games of corn hole, and as laughter and an out pouring of love permeated the air.
Sam and Brent...you are two of the nicest, most kind, and lovely people I've had the chance to work with and call friends. Your families are amazing and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to document your love. The love you share makes those around you better. I wish you nothing but the best together...and enjoy Jamaica!
As all hallows eve draws near, families come together to watch football (go Lions!), eat yummy cinnamon donuts, drink warm apple cider, sew costumes, and carve pumpkins. Last weekend, I set out to find a not too big, not too small, but the perfect pumpkin along with some of Scott's family and we had a few scary characters cross our path along the way.
Halloween is a really amazing time to capture lifestyle pictures of the family as it is natural to be doing things together! Going out and searching for the great pumpkin or dressing up in this years costume or even attending a spooky forest trail are all wonderful photography opportunities and make priceless memories last forever. So make sure to take your camera along on your next family adventure!
We had lots of fun at the Huron Turkey Farm located in Romulus, Michigan where they have some creepy decor and fun, family oriented activities that bring out the very best of this fall season. They have a few animals around the property like goats, chickens, llamas, and ostriches as well as pony rides and a halloween maze.
The main attraction. The pumpkins! At the very front of the farm, you come across this prime hunting ground for your ideal orange gourd with convenient wagons for hauling them or young children around in.
Maria had a good conversation and laugh with this pony as he was taking his lunch break.
There is a lot to look at and discover as you walk around this turkey farm (which makes it awesome for capturing real moments).
Outside the main building, your nose is pleasantly welcomed by the appetizing smell of cinnamon and apples. They have fresh, scrumptious treats and drinks available for purchase but beware, there are some pretty scary characters lurking and hanging around the inside of this place.
My pumpkin! I picked one out for myself to carve that was of a perfectly cute roundness and festive orange hue.
The carving portion of the night was pretty messy and sticky but it was all in good fun as the whole family reflected on halloweens past.
Nurse, scalpel. . . and ice cream scoop.
Happy Halloween! I think my kitty face turned out pretty well if I do say so myself although my hand was so sore/tired but it was worth it to spend time with people I love.
There is a time in Michigan, when you feel a slight change in the air, and you find yourself needing a blanket when you curl up for bed. Fall is my favorite time of the year and it has arrived within the last day or two. I love fall because the trees change color, hoodies become acceptable fashion, fireplaces start burning wood, hot apple cider is aplenty, pumpkin flavored evvvvverything is on every menu, and you get to see the world around you completely change and get ready for a new beginning; winter.
Sam and Brent decided in the fall of last year to celebrate their engagement with some portraits that highlight the beautiful season in all it's magnificence. The day was a bit warm to start off with and Sam and Brent spent some time walking around a Clinton Township Metropark under the fall colors and talking about how Brent proposed. It was so sweet to hear about how Brent first asked Sam's father for her hand in marriage before asking her. Sam laughed joyfully at how her dad was able to kept the proposal a secret from her mom, so that way she, along with Sam, would be genuinely surprised by Brent's proposal.
As the clouds started to roll in, and the breeze picked up I walked with Sam and Brent down to the beach. In Michigan beaches are normally crowed with vacationers (known more affectionately in some places as "fudgies"), but as we walked along the sandy beach, all we could hear was the roar from the water and as I watched Sam and Brent cuddle and laugh with one another I could feel the world around them start to change and get ready for a new beginning in their lives; marriage.
