Emily and Willie's wedding day is one of my new favorites (although I say that every week because all of my couples are just so UH-mazing!!), not only because this couple is so in love (see photos of their first look where Willie wipes away some of Emily's tears!), but their wedding took place at one of my favorite venues in downtown Detroit; the Masonic Temple! . . .Read More

I received one of the best compliments after 10 hours of capturing Molly & Chris' amazing wedding day. Their wedding was held at the iconic Colony Club and at the majestic Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit, MI. At the end of the night, while dancing was well underway, I walked up to Molly and gave her a big hug goodbye and said one last congratulations to her on her marriage to Chris! Molly smiled and because the music was so loud she leaned in closer to me as she said, "We had so much fun with you today! It felt like you were just our good friends here celebrating all day while taking the photos." After hearing those words, the soreness and longness of the day just melted away from my body. Molly's words made all of my hard work throughout the day of looking for the best locations, the best light, anticipating moments, and staying on schedule so worth it! . . .Read More
As guests slowly filed in, looking to find seats at the Grosse Pointe Academy chapel, there was a palpable feeling of anticipation in the air. The smiling faces of Tina and Zach's closest family and friends were eager to see Tina walk down the aisle of the historic church and to witness the start of her marriage to Zach! Bright sunlight filtered in through the stain glass windows as Zach stepped to the front of the altar. The organ boomed to life as the church doors swung open to reveal Tina and her father. . .Read More

There I sat with the smell of coffee and the hum of conversation in the air and I thought to myself, "Wow, I really liked them!" I remember listening to Rachel tell the story of how her and Steve met in high school and eventually became engaged. She had the biggest smile on her face and at one point Steve grabbed her hand during the re-telling of the proposal.Read More
As I walked into the bridal suite at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center the stormy clouds that had been dominating the morning sky had finally started to dissipate. Lindsay breathed a sigh of relief at the news of a rain-free wedding day and she finished up with her hair and make-up styling. The Detroit skyline and river were the backdrop on this dreamy day, with elements of the city finding it's way onto the invitations and reception decor.Read More
On a chilly December afternoon in Frankenmuth, Katie and Jerry strolled amongst families and holiday shoppers perusing the shops for Christmas gifts and enjoying the festive cheer in the air. And as if out of a fairytale, they came upon some horse-drawn carriages. Much to Katie's shock and surprise Jerry insisted that they go for a ride. It was then, as the horse hooves clopped over cobble stone streets and as they rode past the Bavarian inspired village, that Jerry proposed to Katie.
Jerry is such a guy's guy, who loves to fish, work on cars, and has some pretty awesome one-liners in his repertoire. Katie is so sweet and is the type of girl who, as a child, spent many Sunday afternoons in her grandmother's basement listening to old records and polka dancing. On their wedding day, in downtown Detroit at the Masonic Temple, Katie prepared in a medieval bridal suite which was complete with suits of armor and big, beautiful, dramatic windows. As her bridesmaids helped her into her wedding gown, the most anticipated moment of the day had finally come; when Katie's father would walk her down the aisle to Jerry.
Tears sneaked out of their parents eyes and laughter burst forth from Katie and Jerry as they said their marriage vows in the very European inspired chapel. With her burnt orange, red, and yellow flower bouquet in hand Katie and Jerry made a truly unique and show-stopping exit in Jerry's red corvette!
We traveled to Katie's family farm outside of the city and captured some romantic bride and groom photos beneath a vast blue sky. Katie and Jerry's guests cheered at their arrival at the Romulus Progressive Club for their reception, where Katie's parents had held their wedding reception about 40 years prior (how cute!) and everyone danced the night away.
Katie and Jerry, I hope you are having so much fun in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Savannah, and it was such an honor and a joy to be a part of your wedding day. I with you nothing but adventure and happiness together!
