at the Detroit Masonic Temple
Emily and Willie's wedding day is one of my new favorites (although I say that every week because all of my couples are just so UH-mazing!!), not only because this couple is so in love (see photos of their first look where Willie wipes away some of Emily's tears!), but their wedding took place at one of my favorite venues in downtown Detroit; the Masonic Temple!
Emily got ready for her first look with Willie surrounded by family and her bridesmaids who all wore a beautiful shade of purple. Her bridesmaids helped her into her elegant Justin Alexander wedding gown and Emily looked stunning!! (Fun Fact: My wedding dress was also by Justin Alexander so I have a soft spot for his designs!) After Willie saw Emily they both were so overcome with emotion, but it was one of the most romantic parts of their entire wedding! We then headed to Belle Isle and the Detroit Insitute of Arts for some classic Detroit portraits. We also had the opportunity to sneak onto the Masonic's stage and I got a few epic shots of Emily and Willie right before they headed to their ceremony upstairs!
Candles and rose petals lined the ceremony aisle and Willie fought back tears as he watched Emily walk towards him on her Dad’s arm. After Emily and Willie were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. the party continued in the downstairs grand ballroom! Emily’s sister and Willie’s brother both spoke such beautiful words in their respective toasts to the happy couple and even I got overwhelmed by the immense love and joy in the room that I started to get teary myself!
Emily & Willie, thank you both from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to document these special memories for you! It truly is an honor to be your wedding photographer and working with people like you who love to laugh, who are kind, and who love their family and friends is what makes my job amazing!
