Did you see what I did there with the title?! Madison and Brandon's engagement session took place in downtown Ann Arbor, MI, and I just lovelovelove that they incorporated so many personal details into their engagement portraits - like Madison's love of books and the couple's love of all things colorful and happy! Their images are literary the best ever because we got to hang out in between the shelves of the cutest little bookstore and because these two really enjoy fantasy books, movies, and art! Madison even told me that one of the reasons they selected their particular wedding date next summer was because it is also the day when the characters Aragorn and Arwen, from J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, get married! (How cute is that?!)
Madison and Brandon - Spending the evening with you both was so much fun and I can't wait for your wedding next year! I know that if it is anything like your engagement, great things are in store!! Congrats again!
I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from Madison & Brandon's Engagement Session!
Dawn Treader Bookshop was kind enough to let us roam around their cavernous bookstore and the sheer amount of books in this place was amazing!
Ahhh! Oh my gosh Madison you are so beautiful!
It was so cute how Brandon would whisper a joke in her ear or make a funny face and Madison would just light up with laughter!
Madison and Brandon then walked around downtown Ann Arbor with our first stop at the epic State Street Theatre.
Tucked away in a side alley was this beautiful explosion of color and artist expression on what's known as Grafitti Alley!
This wall, with all its pops of color, was MEANT for these two who are at their core artsy, bright, happy, and a little bit quirky! (In the most loveable way!)
The sunset light was dreamy and golden on top of this rooftop overlooking the city! It was the perfect light for portraits!
With Madison's love of the Lord of the Rings, I thought that the architecture at the University of Michigan's Law Quadrangle was the perfect compliment to the fictional Elfish architecture of Rivendell with its high archways, stonework, and magnificent doors!
Near the end of the session, I don't think these two even knew I was there!
