Coral & Navy Waterfront Wedding, Waldenwoods, MI: Anna + Michael

Anna and Michael's wedding day in Hartland, MI began with bright sunshine and not one cloud in the sky. Anna prepared to marry Michael in the bridal suite of Waldenwoods Resort while Michael put on his navy suit and fastened his bow tie along side his groomsmen in a charming, almost southern style, house on the property called the Sunshine Lodge (which was so fitting for the beautiful weather!).

Anna did an amazing job of adding in coral, navy, and gold colors into her day and I just ooo-ed and ahh-ed over all of her gorgeous bridal details, including her rose gold wedding band, yellow rose and succulent bridal bouquet, and her stunning lace gown that fit her perfectly!

Mom and bridesmaids helped Anna step into her dress and everyone was so full of joy and happiness as the story of how Michael proposed was retold. Michael and Anna's proposal story is so sweet and I love that Michael just up and decided one day - then and there - that although life wasn't perfect and there were still many things to accomplish, he knew for certain that Anna was the girl for him! He couldn't wait even one more day so he took Anna out to dinner and then they went for a stroll in a misty drizzle down by a small river.

Fate it seems has a sense of humor and before Michael could really get the proposal out, a couple dozen geese and ducks all started to angrily chase them! After taking refuge a ways down the bank, Anna said, "Yes!" and Michael placed her grandmother's ring on her finger.

Anna and Michael - I feel so honored to be your wedding photographer and the one who was able to capture these beautiful, timeless memories for you both! I had so much fun at your wedding and I know nothing but amazing things are in store for you both!

Warmly,

Courtney Carolyn

These navy and pink floral bridesmaid robes were so cute!

There are always SO many candid, beautiful moments that happen as a bride starts to get dressed and Anna was no exception!

I love this brief, on the verge of tears, moment between Anna and her Mom!

Michael's fitted navy suit and bow tie made him very dapper and sophisticated (exactly how every man wants to look, right?!).

The ceremony was held outside the main house on the Waldenwoods estate. A beautiful view of the plantation style house with its stately pillars were behind the aisle and the picturesque lake was situated behind the alter!

The most anticipated moment of the day as the officiant announced Anna and Michael for the first time as Mr. and Mrs.!

So much joy and happiness for these two!

The bridesmaids were so pretty in their coral dresses matched next to the groomsmen in their navy suits and coral bow ties.

The bride and groom were able to step away from their guests for some portraits by the lake and have a little alone time amidst the hustle of the day.

Anna and Michael were so great and set some time aside right before sunset for some romantic photos of just them! I always encourage my couples to have some portraits right around sunset as it is the best, most ideal time for photos! The sun is low in the sky creating creamy, soft,  gorgeous light!

As the party and dancing continued inside, Anna and Michael snuck out onto the front porch of the estate for an end of the night shot that perfectly captures what the whole day was all about; Anna and Michael's love for each other and their marriage!
