A Destination Presque Isle Michigan Beach Wedding: Cyndi + Scott
With the potentially freezing temperature forecast for this weekend, I thought I would feature one of the weddings that I had the honor of photographing this summer! Looking back on Cyndi and Scott's destination beach wedding I can almost feel the warm sun and gritty sand beneath my toes. . . almost. :)
I met Cyndi and Scott through the amazingly talented Brittany Alies Photography as her second shooter for the day, and as Cyndi prepared to see Scott she spoke about how he had proposed a year earlier. Scott and Cyndi had been walking along the North Bay Beach on Lake Huron in Presque Isle, MI and as the sun slowly began to set, Scott proposed to Cyndi!
They then decided that they wanted to get married right in the same spot on the beach where Scott proposed with their closest friends and family for an intimate and fun celebration.
Cyndi + Scott, I was honored to have been counted amongst the group of people there to witness your wedding and to document this very special day. I wish you so much love, happiness, and adventures together!

Cyndi and Scott opted for many non-traditional touches for their wedding including a first look in the woods before the wedding ceremony. I really love capturing first looks as they are always a more private and emotional interaction between the bride and groom.
These two were so cute and created a "Team Awesome" name for their wedding!
Cyndi looked so beautiful walking down the beach in her tea-length wedding dress with her teal and purple details.
I don't think there was a dry eye during the vow exchange part of the ceremony. It was a very sweet moment not only for Scott and Cyndi, but they also included each of their daughters. As these four "Team Awesome" members legally became a family Scott's daughter had to fight off tears.
It was such a beautiful day! The views of Lake Huron as well as these really amazing people made this destination wedding so worth the 5 hour drive for me.
You know you are in love when you have your own private inside jokes and personal nicknames!
Both the ceremony and laid-back reception were held right on the beach and guests were able to watch the sunset over Lake Huron before Cyndi and Scott brought out the sparklers to end the night!
